Rushing a replacement part to a grounded plane
When a commercial plane went out of action in New York City just before Thanksgiving, a swift repair was essential to avoid disrupting the operator’s busy flight schedule. With no time to waste, our cargo division stepped in to fast-track a replacement part from Florida and get the grounded aircraft back in the air.
Our Solution
Route: Jacksonville > New York > New York City
Aircraft: Bombardier Learjet 35
Despite receiving the client’s call in the early hours of the morning, it took us just 15 minutes to find the ideal charter solution. Reaching out to our operator contacts, we sourced a Learjet 35 light jet that was positioned nearby and could take off later that morning.
Our client originally wanted to fly the replacement part direct to JFK Airport, but we knew securing a landing slot there would be tricky during the busy holiday period. Instead, we arranged for the charter to land in nearby Farmingdale, where we had a sprinter van waiting to collect the cargo and drive it the rest of the way.
