We jumped at the chance to arrange an aircraft charter for Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe’s joint tour of South America in the early months of 2023. The two rock bands were travelling with several VIPs and 23 tonnes of equipment for the multi-stop tour, so we needed to find a solution that could fly the large group in comfort along with all their cargo.

Route: Monterrey > Bogotá > Lima > Santiago > São Paulo > Buenos Aires > Miami
Aircraft: Airbus A340 VIP
Our experts quickly sourced an Airbus A340 VIP aircraft, which had ample business class seats for the 80 passengers and could accommodate the cargo on the lower deck.
The aircraft also had a large enough range for the longest sector of the charter; a nine-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Miami.
We liaised with the operating airline to secure the required landing permits and overflight permissions for all locations on the tour. We also helped organise customised livery for the exterior and branded headrest covers for the interior.
The bands’ set, lighting equipment, instruments and baggage were packed onto nine lower deck pallets and loaded onto the aircraft using a lower deck loader.
