A custom private jet is a great way to build your brand
A custom private jet is a great way to distinguish your brand from the competition. We’ve picked some of the best examples of branded jet livery and personalized private jet interiors that show how much value some visionary organizations and individuals attach to their brands.
More than a luxury – it’s an experience
The dedicated Charter Concepts team at Air Charter Service has been offering tailored branding options to private jet charter customers for years. It’s an exciting trend that’s taking off in a big way as every sector of society – from businesses to race car drivers – taps into the power of branding. It’s happened to watches, boats, cars, and bottled water. Now it’s time for custom-branded private jets.
Euromonitor (that keeps an eye on global megatrends) has found that luxury goods as status symbols are being replaced by status experiences. It’s a trend that’s growing in leaps and bounds. Custom private jets are one place where luxury meets a personalized experience, and – if the current spate of creative, no-holds-barred designs are anything to go by – it seems everyone’s getting on board.
Living the brand – the ultimate paint job
Who says airplanes have to be boring and painted white? Countries, Olympic teams, fashion brands, corporations, and even relief groups are taking their brand story to the skies. Here’s our pick of some of the best aircraft paint jobs.
Embraer’s Profit Hunter special livery
Embraer’s Profit Hunter is not only eye-catching, it’s clever too. The aircraft manufacturer advertised its new E190-E2 jet to the world with a graphic shark motif. This custom private jet exterior got the message across loud and clear – luxury private jets help companies “hunt down the profits like a shark”. The jet toured North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, and helped to boost sales of the luxury private jet.
Nike’s feathered Gulfstream G650
Operated by Nike’s flight department on behalf of co-owner Phil Knight, Nike left the competition in the dust with a rendition of Nike, the Greek Goddess of Victory, on one side and a stylized Oregon Ducks college football team’s helmet on the other. The wings were painted with feathers and the wingtips with Nike’s signature ‘swoosh’ and even featured a customized tail number – N1KE.
Lewis Hamilton’s sports car red Challenger 605
Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton might steal the show during races, but his private jet is the true show-stopper. Painted a bright sports car red, the private plane displays a personalized tail number: G-LCDH – his full initials.
Kütemann’s Dassault Falcon 2000LXS
Dutch entrepreneur Peter Kütemann didn’t like bland airplanes when he bought his large-cabin business jet, so he decided to customize the private jet with Champagne bubbles in various sizes and shades of green and gray. The aim of the jet livery was to give a 21st-Century feel to the exterior of the plane that echoed the aircraft’s interior next-gen avionics.
EVA Air’s Airbus A320 Hello Kitty Livery
With the help of Sanrio, the Japanese company that created Hello Kitty, Taiwanese airline EVA Air launched its first Hello Kitty aircraft in 2005. But the Hello Kitty livery wasn’t confined to the plane’s exterior; the theme was carried through to pillows, cookies, seat covers, and even in-flight entertainment. Staying in character, EVA Air ground crew wear Hello Kitty gear at a bright pink check-in counter, and boarding passes and baggage tickets sport the cute kitty’s likeness.

Embraer’s four luxury themes
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has pulled out all the stops with their Design Concepts for the Lineage 1000E. The collection of luxury private jet interiors includes four themes – the Kyoto Airship, Skyacht One, Skyranch One, Manhattan, and Hollywood. Each interior offers travelers every luxury and indulgence possible, while also being designed to create the feeling of being transported to a past or future fantasy.
For instance, Skyranch One is all about the thrill and romance of the Old West, with bleached woods, European saddle-stitched leather, and fine English wool. The Kyoto Airship has door-sized windows and floor-to-ceiling skylights that “invite in the purest light of the heavens”. Flight crew must have a hard time getting passengers to disembark at the end of a flight!
HAECO’s Airbus A330-200 cabin transformation
Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering (HAECO) Xiamen unit pulled off a beautiful transformation of the cabin interiors on four Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-200s. The luxury interior design theme dubbed ‘East meets West’ has a modern nod to Asian heritage with decorative lattice patterns, woven and painted wallpaper, and a minimalist Western cabin configuration. The colors of soft furnishings are bold while furniture is kept to pale green and matte gold. The aircraft design includes a seating area with bookshelves and a lounge, and a private room with a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom, and an exercise area.
Ring my bell – luxury helicopter interiors
If you thought it was impossible to turn a helicopter into a luxury mode of transport – think again. The Bell 252 Relentless has been designed to lead a double life. Perfectly capable of flying 16 passengers out to an oil rig, the super-medium class twin turbine helicopter is the pinnacle of aviation technology, and fit for military use as well as a luxury pad in the sky.
Seating can be cut in half and swapped for luxury couches and swiveling recliners. It may carry a price tag of $15 million, but you’ll get an aircraft that can land and take-off vertically, has a range of 500 miles, and can be turned into your very own throne room if the fancy takes you.
Luxury has been the name of the game at Sikorsky, too. Flying Colours refurbished the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter to accommodate nine passengers in a swanky electric blue interior. There’s blue and white leather, along with club seating, cabinetry work, and a granite flooring finish in the lavatory and helicopter entrance.
